In Advanced, my time allocated for English reading was much less than before. Still, I regularly look for opportunities to read English literature and attend related forums. English reading has always been an enjoyable habit at all stages of my academic studies. The subject offers a refreshing break from the mostly academic English that I read all the time. Reading various fictions often stimulated me to form personal perspectives on the given situations as well. One of my current wish is to read as many Nobel Prize of Literature laureates’ works as possible. I want to know what outstanding literatures are like.

In Intermediate, I maintained my habit of reading various non-academic English books, albeit with a more selective approach. It remains one of most relaxing subject of my studies. In addition to fiction, I also began reading language tool books to further refine my knowledge of English. It was also during this period that I became fond of detective stories. In particular, I was quite fascinated by Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes mysteries. It was quite amazing that he came up with so many cases that must be reasonably logical. I was so captivated that I read all of the Sherlock Holmes stories, collected in three thick volumes.
